Assistant
The Assistant is a side panel that offers contextual starter prompts based on what you are looking at, then hands off to a quick ephemeral chat backed by your active agent driver.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Open the Assistant from the ✦ button in the banner. It shows starter-prompt cards keyed to whichever panel is focused — Insights cards when Insights is active, git cards when the Git panel is active, workspace cards when browsing files.
Pick a card or type your own question. The Assistant opens an ephemeral chat session, runs one turn against the active driver, and shows the result in the side panel. No separate chat tab, no context switch.
When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”Use the Assistant for quick, one-off questions about the current view — “what changed in the last 5 commits?”, “explain this diff”, “summarize open PRs.” For sustained, multi-turn work, open a full chat in the workspace instead.
